Alberta enjoys the most hours of sunlight per year of any province in Canada, but the amount of sunlight per day changes with the seasons. Watch the animation to see how the number of hours of sunlight each day changes throughout the year, or click the pause button and drag the slider to see the amount of daylight on any day of the year.

If you're watching the animation and you see the hands on the clock suddenly jump, that's because Alberta uses Daylight Saving Time – we move our clocks one hour ahead in the spring and one hour back in the autumn to maximize the amount of daylight during a normal day.
